Modena, Italy - 2013 - Restaurant

These photos show design work done for a restaurant in Modena in 2013 and 2014. Highlights include the two-colour scheme applied to an extensive wall, delineated by a ceiling with exposed beams. This scheme updates the overall design while respecting the rural context. The idea of alternating horizontal bands in these two colours was to redefine the volumes: the sense of height is reduced in favour of more harmonious proportions.

The furniture displayed features “Frizzi” lamps by Nemo, Cassina light division, and context-specific customized chairs and coffee table, constructed by Tuscan and Venetian craftsmen.
For the ground floor hall, we settled on a New England style, where blues and creams resonate with the original tiled floor and stone ceiling.
